چکیده

I I36 extract of the PM fraction was dominated by the strong actin band, while the corresponding fraction from ER had a particularly strong band at about 50 kDa. This band was also present in the NP-40 extract but was not observed in the 130 mwKCI extract. One band at about 60 kDa appeared exclusively in the Triton X-lOO/DOC fraction of ER. The results show that the three extracts from the PM-, ERand N-fractions contain different complements of ABPs, and in each case the 130 mwKCI extract contained the largest number. The high content of ABPs in 130 mM-KCI extracts following non-ionic-detergent treatment adds further evidence to earlier observations [ 11 that this extract is enriched in cytoskeletal components. 1. Annexin II is associated with mRNAs which may constitute a distinct subpopulation.

Protein-mRNA interactions affect mRNA transport, anchorage, stability and translatability in the cytoplasm. During the purification of three subpopulations of polysomes, it was observed that a 36-kDa protein, identified as annexin II, is associated with only one specific population of polysomes, namely cytoskeleton-associated polysomes. This association appears to be calcium-dependent since it ...

Participation of the tightly-bound (putative cytoskeleton-bound) polysomes in translation during germination of dormant and non-dormant cereal caryopses.

Research was done on dormant and non-dormant barley cv. Ars caryopses and triticale cv. Grado caryopses treated and non-treated with abscisic acid (ABA). During germination higher participation of populations of so-called tightly-bound polysomes (TBP) in embryos of dormant barley caryopses was observed, as well as their high metabolic activity. In embryos of triticale caryopses of which dormanc...

c-myc mRNA in cytoskeletal-bound polysomes in fibroblasts.

3T3 fibroblasts were treated sequentially with 25 mM-KCl/0.05% Nonidet P40, 130 mM-KCl/0.05% Nonidet P40 and finally with 1% Nonidet P40/1% deoxycholate in order to release free, cytoskeletal-bound and membrane-bound polysomes respectively. The membrane-bound fraction was enriched in the mRNA for the membrane protein beta 2-microglobulin, whereas the cytoskeletal-bound polysomes were enriched i...

Changes in the PPla mRNA Level and PP1 Activity of Ascites Hepatomas at Different Cell Growth Rates

It is now well established that the type la of serine/threonine protein phosphatases (PP1α) may be implicated in malignant phenotype. Although the PP1α mRNA level increased in livers at preneo-plastic stages of hepatocarinogenesis and all of examined rat ascites hepatomas, unexpectedly, dra-matically decreased in some of primary hepatomas. In order to elucidate the low level of PP1α mRNA in som...

Bound Putrescine, a Distinctive Player under Salt Stress in the Natrophilic Sugar Beet in Contrast to Glycophyte Tobacco

The influence of salinity on the different polyamine fractions (free, conjugated, and bound) was compared in a natrophilic halophyte (Beta vulgaris L. cv. IC) and a salt sensitive glycophyte (Nicotiana rustica L. cv. Basmas). Low-level salinity (25 mM NaCl) and high salinity (150 and 50 mM NaCl for sugar beet and tobacco, respectively) were supplied in hydroponics. Under low salinity shoot dry ...
